It was the sudden-death cook off that contestants,
fans and even judges were dreading.

And on My Kitchen Rules on Tuesday, Caitie, 22, and Demi, 22,
were sent home after losing to their 'best friends' Mark and Chris in the
    battle.

As the girls prepared to leave kitchen HQ, Mark
said it was like sending their 'little sisters'
home, while judge Colin Fassnidge got emotional as he bid the girls a fond farewell.

    Gone!

On My Kitchen Rules on Tuesday, Caitie, 22, and Demi, 22, (L
and R) were sent home after losing to their 'best friends' Mark and Chris in sudden-death

'Our little sisters are going home and we're the cause of that,
' Mark said, disappointed at the outcome but also relieved he and Chris are still
    in the competition.

    Chris added: 'It's bittersweet.'

Colin - who oversaw both teams in their instant restaurants - said the judges were
sad to see the girls leave and praised them.

Sad: Judge Colin Fassnidge got emotional as he bid the girls a fond farewell

'Bittersweet': As the girls prepared to leave kitchen HQ, Mark said it was like
    sending their 'little sisters' home

'I've got two daughters and if they were to grow up like you two, I'd be very proud,' Colin said.

'Because what I've seen from you two...is every time I went to the table,
I was happy to see you, you were always happy, you never said a negative, even when we came down hard
    on you.'

'You are an asset to your families and you'll be sorely missed by the judges and the groups.'

'I'm sorry to see you go,' the Irish chef added, before giving both
the girls a hug as they cried.

The girls added: 'We're going to miss Colin so much, we really became good friends with
    him.'

'I'd be very proud': Colin said if his daughters grow up to be like Demi and
    Caitie, he'd be happy

They also said how the pair of them will continue to be best friends
after the show, with Caitie saying she and Demi will be 'best friends forever'
    after going through MKR together.

The girls were sent home after cooking up an entree
of gnocchi with sage and burnt butter sauce, a main of pumpkin and olive risotto with zucchini flower, and dessert
being an Italian ricotta pie with raspberry cream.

The boys cooked fettuccine carbonara for entree, a main of beef
fillet with mushroom gratin and capsicum puree, and a dessert of peanut
butter parfait with salted caramel sauce.

Not their best work: The girls were sent home after cooking up an entree of gnocchi
with sage and burnt butter sauce

The boys: The men cooked fettuccine carbonara

Gluggy: The girls also cooked a main of pumpkin and
    olive risotto with zucchini flower

Caitie and Demi scored a total of 24 out of
60 points from judges Colin, Manu Feildel, Pete Evans, Guy Grossi, Karen Martini and Liz Egan.

The boys meanwhile - who are dubbed 'footy friends' - scored 31
points out of a possible 60.

Caitie and Demi were told by the judges that their
presentation with their dishes was spot on, but they needed to improve their cooking technique.

The girls made a mistake with their gnocchi, putting their potato in a food
    processor.

    Sizzling!

The boys served a main of beef fillet with mushroom gratin and
    capsicum puree

    Delicious!

The girls made an Italian ricotta pie with raspberry cream for dessert

Fancy: The boys cooked a dessert of peanut butter parfait with salted caramel sauce

Colin said about their gnocchi: 'When our gnocchi hit the table, it looked like a restaurant dish...I just wanted more butter, we
needed that to mop it up,' he said.

Manu added about using a processor: 'Hurrying things up that way is cutting
    corners.'

Guy said that with their main, the zucchini flower was basically pointless while
Pete said their 'execution let you down.'

Liz enjoyed their dessert and said it was the 'prettiest dish of the evening' but their technique let them down, as their pastry was too thick.

Mark and Chris were told their fettuccine was under cooked
and that they needed the egg to be cooked more for the sauce.

With their main, the beef was cooked well but the capsicum puree wasn't
    necessary for the dish.

Their dessert was tasty, but the caramel sauce was too thick and
    let them down.

During the cooking time, Caitie cut her finger as she was chopping ingredients, but
carried on after being attended to by a medic
    on set.

Going head-to-head: Ahead of the challenge, the two teams said they didn't
want to verse each other because of their close friendship

Hello there, I believe your web site could be having browser compatibility
problems. When I look at your website in Safari, it looks fine
but when opening in IE, it's got some overlapping issues.
I simply wanted to provide you with a quick heads up! Besides that, wonderful

An intriguing discussion is worth comment. I think that you need to write more on this issue, it might not be a taboo matter but generally people don't speak about
such issues. To the next! Many thanks!!

About Rick Cue
